Katelyn Schickman, Esq.

I’m an attorney who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing compassionate and zealous legal representation, especially for those who cannot advocate for themselves. I am deeply rooted in South Florida, where I not only grew up but also attended high school, college, and law school. I am also fluent in Spanish.

I graduated from Florida International University in 2021 and then earned my Juris Doctor as well as a certificate in business law from St. Thomas University College of Law in December 2024. While in law school I was recognized for my dedication to public service, receiving a pro bono commendation for my volunteer work both at the Florida Legal Immigration Coalition and at Suniland Sundevils coaching youth sports. During my time in law school, I was an active member of the St. Thomas University College of Law Trial Team and took on several internships. I interned with the Human Trafficking Front, where I worked on advocacy and legal support for survivors and I also interned at the U.S. All Star Federation, where I gained experience with personnel, employment, and compliance issues involving athletes and coaches in competitive sports.

Before attending law school, I worked as a paralegal at a local law firm, which gave me a strong foundation in legal procedures and client service. I was admitted to the Florida Bar shortly after earning my J.D., and I’m proud to now be practicing as a licensed attorney.

Something I’ve always been passionate about is competitive cheerleading. I dedicated a significant amount of time and effort and made personal sacrifices to compete at a high level. I eventually decided to shift from athlete to coach after my first semester of college to help others learn the skills, dedication, work ethic, attention to detail, and perseverance necessary for success in cheerleading and beyond.

I became a lawyer to help ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has a voice in the legal system. I’m excited to be part of a team that values integrity, justice, and advocacy for those who need it most.
