FairLaw Firm Files Collective Action Against VHU Express, Inc.

by | Mar 9, 2016 | News, Wage and Overtime Law

The FairLaw Firm recently filed a putative collective action lawsuit against VHU Express, Inc. and its owners, Lisa Bythewood and Craig Bythewood, for failing to pay their employees at least a minimum wage for all time worked and for also failing to pay them overtime wages for all time worked.

The lawsuit alleges that VHU Express, Inc., Lisa Bythewood, and Craig Bythewood failed to pay their local delivery drivers at all for several weeks of work, improperly deducted time from their drivers’ paychecks, and improperly but automatically deducted time for a lunch break that was not taken, depriving the drivers of the minimum wages and overtime wages required by the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The lawsuit, Benjamin and Alonso vs. VHU Express, Inc., et al., was filed in the Southern District of Florida, Case No. 16-CIV-20642-KING/TORRES. Mr. Benjamin and Mr. Alonso seek to assemble a collective action so that they can notify and then proceed on behalf of all other local drivers against these employers for not paying the minimum and overtime wages earned by the drivers in South Florida.
